Mentorship

At the start of Secondary 3, I was chosen to be mentored by PL Ryan (now venture) as part of his Chief Commissioner’s Award. Initially, I was surprised why he would even choose me to be his mentee as we were not even in the same patrol, but it was because he was curious to know more about his juniors. My friendship with Ryan drew closer as I took over his position as the Chairperson of the 2006 Southern Cross Scout Troop. Founder's Day 2023

Every year on 22 February, Scouts from all around the globe commemorate Founder's Day. Founder's Day is an important date on the scouting calendar as it is the birth date of Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the world-wide scouting movement.  As for this year's Founder's Day , we were able to hold it in the Parade Square with the whole school witnessing the parade for the first time in 3 years. The event was planned by the Venture Exco alongside with the other S4 scouts. Troop Picture The purpose of commemorating scouts founder's day each year is to reaffirm our oaths together as one and contemplate how scouting's century-old values are still relevant in today's fast-paced world.  Ventures of the 07' batch Moment of Silence                                                             Rehearsal for Founder's Day 2023  Over...

Venture Epaulettes Presentation

At the break of dawn on 22 February 2023, the same day we commemorate Founder's Day, My batch mates and I were presented with our Venture Maroon Epaulettes in front of the troop. This signified the halfway mark of our Venture Training Programme. I was very fortunate to have AVSL Andrew Toh and Rover Sio Jia En to don on the epaulettes for me as they were exemplary role models and leaders to me. Ventures of 2007 batch  With the new Venture Epaulettes presented to us, it marks a new chapter in our scouting and venturing journey and we are excited for more to come as we work towards our Venture berets!
